Dear members,
We wanted to inform you of several changes to our Barnstable Pickleball Board in the past six months. In the beginning of the year, Jeff Goode resigned.  Jeff was responsible for all the finances of the committee. His expertise in this area was outstanding as well as guiding us through all the tax exemptions for a non profit organization. We thank him for his work in this area.  Currently, Bob Powers is taking on the roll of finances for our club.

Harvey Auerbach resigned last month as our Secretary, which is not the most sought after job. More than that, Harvey led us through the purchase of the AED that is in the shed and the training sessions that ensued.  Additionally, his ideas and insights with all the issues that we’ve dealt with on the board have been invaluable.  We’re happy to say that Gail Hughes has agreed to join our committee as the next Secretary.

Stephanie Platt has recently resigned as well.  Stephanie was our equipment manager.  Most everything that has been purchased in the last four years, she’s bought. Items from markers, boards, balls, nets and so much more.  Stephanie was an “original” Pickle baller.  When we began playing 10 years ago in Barnstable, she was there to help chalk the lines on old tennis courts for pickleball in various courts in town. She also attended many meetings back then with the Rec. Director, Recreation Comm. and Town Council to support building the courts we have today.  We can’t thank her enough for all of her hard work.  Mike St. Mary has agreed to join the board as our new Equipment Manager.

Best regards,
BP Board of Directors
